  • Lymphatic drainage
  • Increased mobility and flexibility in joints
  • Faster recovery of soft tissue injuries
  • Quicker post-surgery healing
  • A reduction in anxiety and depression
  • Improving immune function
  • Increased alertness
  • Less headaches/migraines

Massage therapy can also help clients manage various disorders, including chronic back pain, insomnia, high blood pressure, fibromyalgia, digestive disorders, and delayed onset muscle soreness.

Massage Therapy FAQs

Can Massage Help with Sports?

If you lead an active lifestyle or participate in sports of any kind, massage therapy can help prevent injuries – and help you heal faster if you become injured. The action of massage helps improve circulation to specific areas that can quicken the healing process. Deep tissue massages, likewise, release fluid and tension in deeper muscle tissue.

Athletes who participate in regular massage sessions find that they experience improved circulation, a greater range of motion, quicker recovery times, and fewer overall injuries. This allows them to get to back to optimal performance faster.

What to Expect During Your Massage Session

Every massage therapy session at Kamloops Integrated Wellness is performed by a trained RMT (Registered Massage Therapist). During your first session, your RMT will likely ask questions and possibly run simple range of motion tests to help them understand your ailment and better structure the massage session to maximize results.

Before beginning, your RMT will explain the kind of massage or techniques they will use to let you know what to expect. Your RMT may also suggest simple exercises to help you continue your healing journey outside of any scheduled massage therapy sessions.

Massage therapy sessions can last between 30 and 90 minutes.
